Hello My Name Is...

Mrs. Claire Simonis

Mrs. Simonis

Hi Glenhope Gators! My name is MariClaire Simonis, and I am so excited to be teaching kindergarten this year! Kindergarten is my favorite grade because of all the excitement and energy that the students bring to school each day. I love that I get to be their first teacher and help them grow during their first year in school. My mom, grandma, aunt, and a few of my cousins are currently/were teachers, so teaching is in my blood!
I graduated from Texas Christian University (Go Frogs!) in 2016 with my Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. Following graduation, I taught kindergarten for two years in Frisco. Then I moved to Nashville to be closer to Mr. Simonis as he finished his last year of law school at Belmont University. In Nashville, I had the privilege of teaching 2nd and 3rd graders. As much as I loved Music City, Texas is my home! My husband and I got married on June 15, 2019 and we moved to Grapevine. I am really excited to be starting my 4th year of teaching at Glenhope Elementary!
When I am not at school, I enjoy going to the lake, shopping, and spending time with my precious nieces and nephews. Also, since Mr. Simonis and I both graduated from TCU, we love to cheer on our Horned Frogs every chance we get.
I am looking forward to a great year!
