Hello My Name Is...

Mrs. Charlotte Weinstein
M.Ed. 5th Grade ASPIRE Academy Teacher (ELAR/Social Studies)

Mrs. Weinstein

I am Charlotte Weinstein and I am thrilled to be teaching our  students (for the fifth year), their ELAR/Social Studies classes.  I have 22 years of classroom experience, teaching children and facilitating workshops.  I have my Texas Teaching Certificate with a BFA in Humanities and English from Texas Christian University. (Go Horned Frogs!) and my Generalist certification in Elementary Education K-6 I received my M. Ed. In Gifted and Talented Education from Hardin Simmons University, in 2011. I began my teaching career in San Antonio, where I met my husband, Stu, (from Chicago-Yay! Cubs) and moved to the west coast with his career; later returning to Texas in 2004. My husband’s 3 children, have been a huge part of my life and I treasure being their step-mom. Our home has always been shared with neighborhood children, families and assorted pets. My professional experience includes facilitating student learning in the classroom, being the PLC lead for GT Humanities for middle schools and a consultant for the AP College Board Capstone Diploma Program.   I have also had the pleasure and opportunity to present at the AP Southwestern Regional Forum, and at the Texas Association for Gifted and Talented Conference.  But, most importantly, I love teaching gifted children and I deeply care about my students and parents. This year will be an exciting and  enriching year in our 5thgrade ELAR/Social Studies, ASPIRE Academy.
