Meet the Teacher... I am thrilled to be starting my 16th year of teaching as a Glenhope Gator! I taught Ninth grade English in Cedar Hill; Pre-K, and two years in Second Grade in Keller ISD, and for five years I taught First Grade in GCISD at O.C.Taylor. This will be my seventh year as a First Grade ASPIRE teacher. I graduated with a double major in English and Psychology from THE University of Texas
in Austin…Hook ‘Em!
In my spare
time I love spending time with my family. I just celebrated my 23rd wedding anniversary with my amazing husband Scott. I have two "bonus” sons-Chase who is 35 years old and married to Natalia and has a daughter named Vika who just turned eight and a 14 month old boy Adrian, Taylor who is 30 and is a Marine married to Shay and stationed at Camp Pendleton in California. We also have a daughter Kayleigh Grace who just turned 22 and is working to become a vet at Oklahoma State University.
My passion is traveling... I am willing to go anywhere at
anytime! I also am a Foodie. We love eating at fun new places. We also enjoy going to the movies, watching all kinds of sports and playing golf whenever we get the chance. I love being an educator! I am here to love your child and to provide a safe, warm environment where they will be actively engaged in learning. I am an enthusiastic life-long learner and want to instill that same passion in children. I look forward to our partnership this year so that we can ensure your child's success academically, socially and emotionally.
For me, relationships are THE most important and I am beyond thankful that we are taking this journey together.
A couple of quotes dear to my heart...
~Every child deserves a champion – an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be. -Rita Pierson
~Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn. -Benjamin Franklin
~You can teach a student a lesson for a day; but if you can teach him to learn by creating curiosity he will continue the learning process as long as he lives. - Clay P. Bedford
