EARLY ARRIVALS

Due to restrictions for social distancing due to the COVID pandemic, we ask that students not arrive before 7:30. The space for socially distancing students safely is limited.  


BUS SERVICE:
Bus service will only be provided for students that 817-251-5592 reside in the 2950 Apartments, Broughton sub-division, and those attending the ASPIRE Academy.  If you have any questions, the GCISD Transportation Department may be reached at 817.251.5592.


ABSENCES:
If your child is going to be absent, please call the 817-251-5720 school between 7:15 - 8:15 a.m. or email tracey.stone@gcisd.net.  Upon returning to school, a written or emailed note  MUST be provided to the office.


DOCTOR/DENTIST APPOINTMENTS:
In the event a doctor or dentist appointment, it must be scheduled during school hours, a parent must come to the school office and sign the student out PRIOR TO 2:30 p.m.No student will be dismissed for early sign out appointments after 2:30 p.m.  Upon return, a parent/guardian  MUST sign the student in and provide a doctor’s note. 


DRESS CODE:
 
Please refer to the GCISD Parent and Student handbook for a detailed description of the GCISD Dress Code.  If ever in doubt, ask the teacher or the office before the attire is worn.


COVID VISITOR UPDATE
For the safety of our students and staff there will be no visitors allowed on Campus at this time.  If you need to bring something to the school  you must contact the office for prior approval. If you must enter the building for an emergency, you will need to follow    the current GCISD COVID guidelines. 


BUILDING VISITORS:
When visitors are permitted and for the safety of our children, all  (including volunteers) MUST sign into the SAFE VISITOR Kiosk before entering the  instructional areas. A name tag must be worn while visiting and/or volunteering in the building.  ALL volunteers MUST complete an online background check, which may be found @  https://www.gcisd.net/cms/one.aspx?portalId=96313&pageId=29510643


BREAKFAST & LUNCH:
You may go online at www.myschoolbucks.com to  pay with a credit card or send a check to pay for your child’s meal.  A computerized account will be kept, and your child will be charged meals against his/her account.  Students have the option to purchase extras such as milk, dessert, and other snacks.  If you do not wish for your child to purchase extras, you MUST fill out the form located  in the front of the menu calendar.  Restrictions can only be made by parents/guardians. School personnel cannot limit food choices in any way. MEDICATION:
All medication should be given outside of school     817-251-5710 hours if possible.  If your child must receive medicine at school, there are special procedures to follow.  Please obtain a MEDICAL PERMISSION FORM from the nurse.  Some medications require a doctor’s signature in addition to the parent’s signature.  For questions, call Liz Giblin at 817.251.5710.

****UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL A CHILD BE ALLOWED TO TAKE MEDICATION ON THEIR OWN.  ALL MEDICINE IS TO BE KEPT IN THE NURSE’S OFFICE AND ALL MEDICINE IS TO BE GIVEN BY THE SCHOOL NURSE OR SCHOOL PERSONNEL TRAINED BY THE SCHOOL NURSE.
