Teacher Bio

My teaching career began 30 years ago. My how time does fly!  I was hired just after completing my internship and graduating from the University of North Texas with a BFA in Art Education. I taught in the H.E.B. school district for ten years until I resigned in order to stay home with my children. A few years later, I was ready to get back into the classroom and was subsequently hired to teach in G.C.I.S.D. This is my twenty-first year in this district, and my eighth year to be full time at one school- Glenhope. YAY!

I am married to a wonderful husband who I am proud to say is a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran. Together we have two children, both products of Glenhope. Jordan is graduate of Southwestern College in Santa Fe, earning a dual Master's degree in Counseling and Art Therapy. She also just got married so I have wonderful new son-in-law. Cooper is in his 5th year at The University of Texas at Austin in The McCombs School of Business pursuing his Master's in accounting. I am very proud of both my children.

It is a joy to spend time with your children watching them learn and create and grow. We have so many creative children here at Glenhope, and I am excited to share their artwork through Artsonia. This is a great way for kids to keep a digital portfolio of their work even after they leave elementary school.
