Principal

Dr. Wynette Griffin, Principal
I have had the good fortune to be principal at Glenhope Elementary since August of 2000. I previously served as the assistant principal at Dove Elementary and taught at Grapevine and Bear Creek Elementary Schools. I taught for a year in DISD prior to coming to GCISD.
Although I graduated with a degree in education and taught for a couple of years right after I graduated, I had another career before returning to the classroom. For about 9 years I worked for a mortgage banking firm.
I have been married to my husband, Jim, for 44 years and we have one daughter, Liz, who is 42 and is an assistant principal in Lewisville ISD. A few years ago, Liz adopted two boys so we became grandparents to James and Zane. Jim was the mayor in Bedford but is now retired and does a LOT of volunteer work. I play the piano at Woodland Heights Baptist Church. In 2006, I completed my doctorate in educational administration.
I enjoy lots of things about being the principal at Glenhope, but my favorite part is getting to know the boys and girls who attend school here. It's a great joy to watch them grow and mature from year to year, and to feel that working together with families we contribute to their future success.
We have many new staff members joining our team this year and we are all committed to providing your student(s) with a safe and loving place to learn and our very best instruction. Our challenge is to provide every student with just what they need.
