📝 After a delayed start today, Grapevine-Colleyville ISD will return to its regular schedule tomorrow, January 17, 2024. We're excited for a full day of learning. See you in the classrooms! 📝

Grapevine-Colleyville ISD will open with a two-hour delayed start Tuesday, January 16, 2024, to allow staff to prepare campuses and bus drivers ample time to safely transport our students to school. School will begin at the following times for each campus:
Elementary Schools: 9:40 a.m.
Middle Schools: 10:10 a.m.
High Schools: 10:40 a.m.
Collegiate Academy: 10:35 a.m.
Early Childhood Special Education sessions will also begin on a two-hour delay
Morning Extended Day Program will begin on a two-hour delay
Early Childhood Development Center will also begin on a two-hour delay
All staff members, other than transportation and facilities services staff needed to prepare for school operations, should report to work two hours after their regularly scheduled start time. Secondary campuses will communicate their revised bell schedules for the day with their families and staff.
Dismissal will be at the normal time at all campuses. Information regarding after-school activities will be communicated directly by the specific activity teacher, director, or coach.
Bus rider families are encouraged to sign up for Transportation Services’ SMART Tag Parent Portal, where parents can be notified when their child’s bus is nearing the stop.
This plan is based on the information that our district leaders have at this time. The district will continue to monitor weather conditions, and if there are any changes to this plan, the district will continue to communicate those details through www.GCISD.net, email, text messages (for those subscribed), the GCISD mobile app and official GCISD social media accounts.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we monitored this arctic blast. We look forward to seeing our staff and students back at school tomorrow!
**Please note that this change to the schedule does not impact iUniversity Prep staff or students.

Due to potentially hazardous road conditions, Grapevine-Colleyville ISD has canceled all student activities, rehearsals or practices planned for Monday, January 15. District administrators continue to monitor weather conditions and will communicate any additional changes as they are available.

It's getting cold outside, and winter weather can make families wonder if GCISD has school. When a winter weather situation arises, GCISD will notify families via automated phone calls and texts. The district will also post notifications on the GCISD app and social media accounts. Information will be shared with all major TV stations.

102.9 FM radio personalities Billy the Kid and Candace Lopez came out to Glenhope Elementary today to commend Christina Hayes’ class for their act of kindness, recently purchasing a set of colorblind glasses for one of their classmates. The radio station treated the class to a pizza snack party after lunch and surprised Ms. Hayes with a gift card to Lakeshore Learning.

Kindergarteners at Glenhope Elementary School were given a very special surprise today. After learning about animals in class, students got to go outside and meet bunnies, pigs, chickens, goats and more! While petting the animals, students also practiced spelling the names of the farm animals. #WeAreGCISD

All buses have been able to begin their routes and we are expecting no more than a 15 minute delay. Thank you!

This morning, the fire alarm was going off at GCISD's Transportation Building as bus drivers were arriving. The fire department is on the scene and staff is currently waiting for the all clear. However, all bus routes across the district will be delayed this morning. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

ICYMI: NBC 5 and WFAA both shared a heartwarming moment that happened right here in GCISD yesterday.
